Greetings:
Pls. be advised that on Friday, I submitted grievances to DPL/HR dept., on behalf of the APL, POOL and STU units, protesting the application of the City of Detroit CET (City Employment Terms) on each of these contracts.
Per our UAW Region 1 International Representative, the UAW is contesting the legality of the CET due to the failure the passage of Proposition 1 and other concerns.
As you are aware, our contracts are negotiated with the Detroit Library Commiussion. However, many benefits, including retirement, are administered by the City of Detroit.
I'll keep you posted as the situation develops.
In Solidarity,
Laurie Stuart, President, LU 2200
